Fantastic Schedule

Each year we endeavour to provide the very best speakers from the Core team, HQ and community so that you walk away with as much knowledge, motivation and ideas as possible.  The schedule is worked in a way that you should be able to get to most things that you want to, and on the off chance anything conflicts (with so many excellent sessions that's always possible...) we upload videos of all the sessions. 

The Un-Conference

Technical conferences can be.... interesting (read dull).  Or there is just SO much jammed in them it's hard to take anything away.  We combat that in somewhat of an unconventional way.  We turn the CodeGarden conference into more of a... unconference.  We prefer more of a festival atomsphere.  Which isn't to say we don't take it very seriously, we just believe in having a whole lot of fun while doing it.  You WILL walk away with a lot of new knowledge and experience, but balanced out nicely with a lot of fun and great memories.

Friendly Community

There is a reason we're known as the friendliest community on the planet.  Most users have experienced it on the forums and twitter, but those who have been before will tell you it's another thing entirely to experience it at a CodeGarden conference.  Don't be left out this year, experience it for yourself.  Make sure you get a ticket and be a part of it.

Videos

All the sessions from CodeGarden are recorded and put online as a good refresher for when you get back buzzing with ideas.  We load them up as soon as we possibly can, but obviously nothing beats being at a session in person and getting the information or asking questions first hand.

Everybody Who's Anybody

CodeGarden is the one and only annual conference organised by the Umbraco HQ, and anyone who is anyone who works with Umbraco will be there.

Want to ask the core team a question, or thank that package developer that helped you countless hours for delivering a client project in person, well you can!  In fact, you may be interested in developing a package yourself but don't know how to get started.... why not talk to someone about it and get a head start?

Community Hacking

Every year conference attendees have naturally gathered to share new ideas, thoughts and code.  Through this collaboration some amazing packages have been born, such as uComponents, the highest rated package on our.umbraco.org.  Last year we started a dedicated hack lab which was a huge success and will be returning in 2012.  Come prepared to cut some serious code.

Awesome Sessions

You can expect a great schedule for this year's CodeGarden, given that it's the very first year that the entire conference is dedicated to the brand new version, Version 5 built on MVC.

This year there will be two more formal tracks. A third room will be dedicated to being a cozy 'hands on' lab for hacking and collobrating with your fellow attendees, to help build wonderful new things. 

Food & Drink

CodeGarden is great value for money, and so much more than just three days of great Umbraco sessions and hands on labs.  We know we'll be feeding your mind with the very best and we believe in doing the same with your stomachs, so you'll be enjoying tasty organic food for lunch and dinner. Your ticket covers the cost of the following:

Over the eight years that the CodeGarden conference has been running, there has been some fantastic swag. Previous giveaways have included....

Umbraco Awards

The Umbraco Awards presents a chance for the community to submit their Umbraco built websites into three different categories, for a chance to win a unique one off award.

The categories to submit your website into are as follows:

• Best Technical Solution
• Best Designed Site
• Best Integration

Package Competition

Are you a developer who loves to prove their stuff by hacking and building things under time pressure to present to a large room of Umbraco users? (Breath...)  You are? Then you will love the challenge of entering the package competition, building a package in just three short days and demoing it to a live audience.

A lot of fun, the package competition has had some great prizes in the past, with last year's winner winning an awesome 3D MakerBot Printer.  Most of us were more than just a little jealous!

Details of the package competition submission guidelines and the prizes up for grabs will be announced closer to the time.

Bingo & Boat Party

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy... with that said CodeGarden may be a great place to learn how to do things with Umbraco, but it's also a fun place to come and have some great times chilling out with old and new community friends.

Every year we organise two major events during CodeGarden which are a lot of fun, to drink some beers and have more than a few laughs. The two events that you MUST NOT MISS are:

• The (in)famous Bingo Night
• The Canal Boat Party

So don't rush back to the hotel after the last session of the day, there is plenty more to do in the evenings with us and we'd love to get to know you better.
