Umbraco 6.1.5 Released

Sunday, September 01, 2013 by Sebastiaan Janssen

Just a quick update: we've just released Umbaco 6.1.5 after discovering a particularly annoying bug where if you had an image cropper on a media type then drag & drop uploading didn't work any more and there would be null reference errors in DAMP.

We also had a report of an event handler not doing its work any more, which has now also fixed along with a fix to make sure the 301 URL tracker keeps working.

If you're affected by these issues, you can easily upgrade to 6.1.5 (as always with a path release, there's no config file changes nor database changes).

We're putting in additional unit tests and will be paying better attention to changes involving event handlers to help prevent us from releasing a version with these kinds of defects in the future.

I'm using a v4 media API in a 6.1.3-based MVC4 site (cos I can't find a v6) to set child node allowed on the Folder media type for a custom media type. I think the 6.1.5 changes have broken this as it gets turned off by the upgrade. I made a forum post here:

    I try to use U6.1.5.
All atempt to setup site end up with following error:

    Server Error in '/' Application.
    The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Requested Url: /install/Default.aspx

Any idea what is going on?

    steps to reproduce roor:
unzip files from package to desired folder.
Changed umbraco.settings to work with MVC
Setup blank database with all appropriate permissions and users.
    setup site on IIS
    do DNS entry

Open URL and setup site same way as it was done on any other Umbraco instances.

@Alex The obvious question is: did you unzip the install folder as well?

  10. Gravatar ImageNik Says:

Sebastiaan, hope all is well. I've noticed that doc types cannot be deleted in 6.1.5. Anyone else have this issue?

  11. Gravatar ImageSebastiaan Janssen Says:

Hey Nik! I don't have that issue here in a clean install.. You don't happen to have eventhandlers preventing deletion do you?
Please create an issue in the tracker and add as much detail as you can (~/App_Data/Logs/UmbracoLog.txt will contain the actual error hopefully or else you might need to look at the response in Fiddler).

Thanks for the fix guys :)

Hi Sebastiaan, nothing funky. It's a clean (relatively empty install). Looks like this is what is reported in Fiddler:

    When the UI Loads:
    404 Not Found (text/html)

    404 Not Found (text/html)

When trying to delete ANY node, no requests are spawned that Fiddler picks up. So, assuming because I'm missing MsAjax.....

    Thanks for your help!
