Help us help you
Umbraco 5 is a huge project and while the team is making superb
progress on the core, we all know that Umbraco is more than just
the default distribution. Umbraco is the sum of a great core, loads
of community knowledge and sharing. Here's how you can help:
- Play with the milestone releases and give us feedback. Tell us
what works and what doesn't. Tell us what specific tutorials or
videos would help you get up to speed. Learn the core, so others
can learn from you.
- Upgrade your packages. If you're a package developer, now is
the time to start making your packages compatible with Umbraco 5.
While we're not feature complete until we hit the beta mark, a lot
of things are already possible in the Alpha. In fact, everything
you see in Umbraco is now 'plugins'.
- Fix bugs. Are you an experienced developer? Why not join the
core team - we have a lot of fun! First step toward becoming a part
of the core team is supplying patches via Hg pull requests but
we're also very open for new ideas and constructive critisism.
Remember that the more community knowledge we pack inside the core,
the better it'll be. That's why it was made open source in the
first place!
