New Umbraco TV Chapter: What are Macros and Partial Views?
Hi all, it's Andrew again letting you know we have released a new chapter on Macros and Partial Views!
In this chapter I answer the common question: What is the difference between a Macro and a Partial Views. Learn the ins and outs of when to use each piece of functionality in order to optimize your templates, save time and reduce mistakes when writing your code.
Additionally, I cover every aspect of Macros such as how to implement Macros in a Grid or Rich Text Editor and how to setup and call to parameter values. These are all aspects that will free your editors from worrying about how to add a Partial View into a template. By you structuring the parameters behind the macro for your editors, it will, for example, only take them a few clicks to add a nice looking image gallery. This will save them from worrying about or even seeing any code - hurrah!
And finally, in this chapter I’ll also show you how ridiculously simple it is to setup macro caching in order to optimise your website’s performance. Spoiler alert: It only requires a single tick.
