Testimonial: The Segal Group on Umbraco Cloud

Umbraco Cloud. The beginning.

Our long-term web hosting partner was looking to get out of the hosting business and Umbraco Cloud sounded like the place we needed to be. And so we shifted to it. We did it a little over a year ago.

We were fairly comfortable with the idea of Umbraco Cloud, I have attended many of the workshops and sessions in the years leading up to the launch.

I saw the improvements and maturity in those years and I knew that with the launch, things were finally ready for us to get on board.

A massive time saviour

Umbraco Cloud frees up so much time when it comes to getting a project started. The integration with Git has finally provided our organization with a path for a true development workflow.

There’s a major difference compared to our previous hosting to start a new site, we’re much faster. Also, with our other hosting, we did not have the easy ability to set up local dev, then push up to live. That has been great for us and since I am not a true developer, I was finally able to learn how to develop locally (we started using VS Code) – it has just been great!

A product that’s easy to sell

Our clients trust us, but over the years they have come to trust the Umbraco name as well – so explaining a hosting platform built and supported by the Umbraco HQ team is a super easy sell! They easily see the same benefits that we are enjoying and have zero hesitation following our recommendation.

For the most (and the most amazing) part, our clients are not even aware of the hosting when working with their sites… which is exactly the way it should be. If you are aware of the hosting, as a client, that means something is going wrong 😉

10 sites already on the ☁️

We have just spun up our 10th site on Umbraco Cloud. If we stay on our current trajectory, we will be adding another 10 just this year.

If we had more resources, we would upgrade and move our many other clients over to the cloud, we will have to see on that one… but all our new sites are definitely going on cloud!

Overall it has just been a positive experience; we spin up projects in no time, we benefit from the opportunity for a true development workflow via Git, we love the amazing support team, the auto upgrades, it just keeps getting better.

We are so happy that we made the move to Umbraco Cloud!
