So close you can almost taste it! Umbraco 9 is ready to step into its final stage before the big launch. I’m, of course, talking about the Release Candidate which will be out next week on Thursday, July 8th - and you’re invited to the party!

90% Complete. 10% You.

That’s how you can sum up the RC coming next week. A release that includes ALL the features and functionality you can expect in Umbraco version 9.

Does this mean I can test on real projects?” - Yes!

The RC is at a stage where it’s production-ready so we highly encourage you to choose the Umbraco 9 RC for that next project of yours. In fact, that’s the whole point of this release and what’ll make up the final 10% - to get you to take it for a spin to help us polish off the final bits, making it complete for the big release in August.

Be ready for the new Umbraco

Using the RC for real projects also lets you be one step ahead when it comes to seeing and working with what will become the “new Umbraco” very soon.

Umbraco 9 is a complete upgrade of the technology stack of the CMS, going from .NET Framework to .NET 5 (formerly known as .NET Core). With Umbraco 9, you can look forward to better performance and scalability, clean(er) architecture, compatibility options with MacOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows  - basically, a more delightful and modern Umbraco under the hood.

This upgrade means that some things will remain the same while others will change. But it’s changing for the better and a more future-proof Umbraco.

Join the RC launch celebration next week 🎉

We’ve been super happy to see the big interest in testing both the Alpha and especially the Beta releases. Thank you and H5YR to everyone who’s helped out so far 🙌And with the RC being production-ready, we hope to see even more of you taking it for a proper spin!

It’s hopefully no surprise that the Umbraco 9 Release Candidate is a huge milestone - a milestone that needs a special celebration! That’s why I’d like to invite you to the RC launch live stream on Zoom.
