New Hire at Umbraco HQ: Niklas Matthiesen

A warm welcome to Niklas, our newest Friend Maker!

Our house at Haubergsvej 1, 5000 Odense C, Denmark just got fuller: Niklas has joined the Umbraco HQ as the newest Friend Maker. But that is just one of his current cool titles. Niklas is also a master student, a dedicated world explorer (in fact, he had a tiny crush on Denmark ever since his childhood travels here) and a sworn sports enthusiast. But he will tell you all about that himself 😎 Read on!

My new job at Umbraco HQ

Hi everybody, my name is Niklas and I am very happy to call myself the newest Friend Maker on the block! 😊

As part of our Triple-S-Team (SSS or Service, Sales and Support) here at Umbraco HQ, my primary task will be to work alongside with our rapidly increasing number of Umbraco Registered Partners, in order to spread the word and make our great community grow even greater.

To begin with, I will be working part-time as a student assistant next to my master studies at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).

Before I came to Umbraco I spent the last couple of years working for a German IT-service provider while obtaining my bachelor´s degree in Business Science & Management and making friends across the world while travelling. Alrighty, so far for my new task, next…

Let me tell you about myself…

I am 24 years old and although my name might sound very Danish, I just recently moved to Odense. Born and raised in Hamburg I spent my childhood days in Germany and my summer vacations on the beautiful shores of Denmark. This might also be one of the reasons that made me want to move here in the end. 😉

After finishing high school I attended a dual mode study program, where periods of working in a company alternate with periods of studying at a university. It was during this time that I spent a semester abroad in the USA and discovered my love for travelling and connecting with people from all over the world.

Currently I am studying a master’s program at SDU in the field of Economics and Business Administration.

On to the fun stuff. Name any sporty or adventurous activity and I’m down for it! Whether it’s hiking, skiing, surfing, rafting, bouldering, beer pong or flip cup, I might not be the best but I love them all ❤️

Oh, and did I mention that I played handball for more than 13 years? 😏
