Your favorite Umbraco achievement?
Getting the mail from Niels Hartvig, saying I was chosen as an MVP. I really thought he had sent it to the wrong person, and replied that it must be a mistake. He replied “yes it was…”, and that was all I read in the preview in the mail-app.
Fortunately, I later opened the email and read the full answer.
What about Umbraco keeps you coming back for more?
The platform allows our solutions to grow. Umbraco never really gives us many hurdles to overcome, and when they do occur, there is almost always someone out there who can help.
We can spend our time adding value for customers and re-use solutions and best practices between solutions.
What are you currently working on?
Internally in Novicell, we are working on our new offerings around Umbraco Version 8. The CMS is a building block in the solutions we create. We are always improving on what we create as our solutions, and how we maintain them afterward. Therefore, the tools we have in place for this need a bit of development to work with Umbraco Version 8.
What are your top 3 best tips for an Umbraco newbie?
- Get started! The biggest obstacle is the first solution. The documentation on our.umbraco.com sites like codeshare.co.uk, will help get up and running very fast.
- Get better! 24days.in, skrift.io and other sites can inspire you to do more with the skills you acquire by learning Umbraco.
- Get out! Go to meetups, festivals, Codegardens, etc. One of the best ways to learn is to talk to others and learn from their experiences.
