Favourite Umbraco moment or achievement?
First seeing the “Happy Caturday” login message and realizing that, thanks to Umbraco, the only weekend I had to work was at the launch-weekend.
What in your Umbraco career are you most proud of?
Singlehandedly revamping a government website and whittling it down from 1500 pages to just 500.
What about Umbraco keeps you coming back for more?
Any major website build can easily become a bit of a moving target and this latest one certainly did. But the incredible flexibility of the CMS made the inevitable changes painless to implement.
And, of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention the truly magical support of Umbraco HQ.
I thought this was going to be a solo build but the team at Umbraco HQ wouldn’t let that happen.
What are you currently working on?
Getting Umbraco Certified.
I recently set out on the Master Certification path and look forward to finishing up my requisite coursework this spring.
What are your top 3 best tips for an Umbraco newbie?
- Build in Umbraco Cloud so you can…
- ... Take full advantage of Umbraco Cloud Platform Support. They really are magical.
- Watch a lot of TV (Umbraco TV that is).
Any aspirations for your future?
I would love to make it Codegarden and visit Umbraco HQ in Odense.
What is on your desk at work?
One corner of my desk gets a lot of sun, so I’ve set it up to start lavender seeds. Here in Vermont, there are still a few months till anything can be planted outside, but the days are already lengthening in anticipation of Spring.
So, this year, I’m starting my garden on the desktop.
