Background
Since 2006, Animal Care Austria (ACA) has been dedicated to helping animals in need. Through adoption programs, medical treatment, foster care, and above all the support of donors, ACA ensures that countless animals get a second chance at a safe and loving home.
However, the organization’s previous website no longer met modern standards. It was outdated, difficult to use on mobile devices, and unable to support ACA’s growing needs. Donations had to be processed manually, newsletters were not integrated into the system, and supporters lacked a clear and direct way to view animal profiles or contribute financially.
At the same time, ACA’s work was expanding. The number of animals, donors, and campaigns was steadily increasing, which created an urgent need for a scalable, connected digital solution that could engage supporters emotionally while streamlining all internal processes.


Solution
MBIT implemented a complete website relaunch on Umbraco, using a mobile-first approach to transform ACA’s digital presence into an integrated system for animal management, donations, and supporter communication.
At the core of the solution lies a CMS-driven animal database within Umbraco, allowing staff to easily create and maintain animal profiles directly in the backend. Each profile is seamlessly linked with donation options, ensuring transparency and emotional impact for supporters.
For donations, the platform RaiseNow was integrated as a secure and modern payment and fundraising system. Supporters can now contribute directly via the website whether for food, medical treatments, or specific rescue projects. All transactions are securely processed, tracked, and associated with the relevant animal profiles.
Automated donor communication was another key element. Thanks to Brevo, every donation triggers an instant, personalized thank-you email completed with a photo of the supported animal. The newsletter system enables segmented campaigns, detailed performance analytics, and targeted supporter engagement.
Together, these components built on Umbraco form a holistic digital ecosystem where donations, animal management, and communication work hand in hand.
Impact
The relaunch provided ACA with much more than just a new website. It created a comprehensive digital platform that combines emotional storytelling with operational efficiency.
Animal profiles are now easy to maintain, transparent for visitors, and directly connected with fundraising activities. Donors experience a seamless journey from discovering an animal in need to contributing, receiving an instant thank-you, and continuing to engage through newsletters and campaigns.
Internally, processes have been streamlined significantly. Donation management, communication, and reporting can now be handled within one connected system, reducing administrative overhead and freeing up resources for what matters most: helping animals.
With this new digital infrastructure, ACA is equipped to scale its mission, reach more supporters, and ultimately save more lives. The platform works quietly in the background, but its results are visible every day in wagging tails, purring cats, and countless animals finding their forever homes.
