On the way to success with Umbraco Cloud
What we set out to do
Bliz sells sports glasses, goggles, sunglasses and helmets for everyone who loves being active and likes to challenge themselves. Their products are designed in Sweden that are at the cutting edge in both function, technology and appearance. We've actually been working together with them and Future Eyewear Group since 2017.
Bliz previously had a poorly built website that simply wasn’t optimal for a fast-growing e-commerce business. There were a few other solutions built previously that didn’t make it possible for the brand to grow online and develop in the way that Future Eyewear Group wanted it to.
The old site also focused on marketing and brand awareness rather than e-commerce. So, our job was to build a much more flexible e-commerce solution for Bliz, speed up the site and give the design makeover.
Building a fast and flexible solution
To get the result we wanted and avoid reinventing the wheel we built the site with Uccelerate. That is our ambitious project started together with Ucommerce to create an accelerator for e-commerce solutions.
We collected all our knowledge and boiled it down into a flexible foundation to build a complete e-commerce site on. We put a lot of effort into optimizing the page speed and used Lazy Load.
What normally would take several hundred hours in the start-up of the project instead takes half the time and that gives you an e-commerce site for just a fraction of the normal price.
This means that the client can begin selling online quicker, and we can focus on individualizing the functions and design that the client is looking for.
We redesigned the whole interface to get the flexibility the solution needed, which means that our client can now easily update the site and adjust the content after season or campaign.
To give the developers further flexibility and the ability to use automatic updates we built the new bliz.com with Umbraco Cloud. It allows you to save a lot of time, thereby reducing costs for the client. Not only that, but you can also be sure that your site is secure.
