Ciqola Carpets

Future-proof ecommerce solution

Using Umbraco Cloud and Storm Commerce, Sigma ITC developed a modern and fresh ecommerce solution for Ciqola Carpets, an independent subsidiary of Rusta Group. The main goal was to craft a solution which would enable Ciqola Carpets, a young and rapidly growing online carpet seller, to scale when needed. How did it go? Sigma ITC is spilling all the beans:

Our client

Ciqola Carpets is a startup found in 2018 and run by a small but dedicated team with great passion for commerce and over 20 years of experience in selling carpets.

The company offers a wide and carefully selected range of affordable quality carpets directly from leading manufacturers worldwide. Ciqola Carpets place very high demands on their suppliers and therefore visit each factory themselves in order to evaluate their operations.

Developing a modern and scalable solution

The objective was to build a stable and future-proof ecommerce solution. The desired outcome was to have a modern and fresh solution Ciqola Carpets would be able to grow with.

We recommended Ciqola Carpets to build their website on an Umbraco Cloud and Storm Commerce combination. There were two reasons for this:

✔️ On Umbraco Cloud you can spin up the first version of the project very quickly. Plus, Storm Commerce has several different APIs and other ready-made functionality, enabling us as a partner to integrate and tie together selected systems in a standardized and quality-assured way.

✔️ It is easy to create a modern user experience with Umbraco as a tool, and together with Storm Commerce, the final ecommerce solution becomes both efficient and scalable for the future.

Our key to success

And so we built the solution on Umbraco Cloud combining it with Storm Commerce and Azure Search to tailor a best of breed experience for Ciqola Carpets.

We developed this project as we usually do. We took the agile approach having a scrum team and a project backlog. Together with the stakeholders and product owner we prioritized the most important parts before every sprint.

After a few sprints, we started out testing the new solution with friends and family. When we were all satisfied with the result, we launched.

We continue to collaborate with Ciqola Carpets, following a continuous agile approach with sprints and deployments, trying to make the experience on the site better and better with every update.

“Umbraco CMS as well as Storm Commerce are both intuitive and user-friendly, and these were important requirements for us. At Ciqola Carpets, a wide and unique range of affordable quality rugs are gathered. In order to visualize that well, we needed an inspiring and functional ecommerce solution.”
