The first GIVIT website, launched in 2020 on Umbraco 8, faced challenges due to outdated information architecture and visual design. As the organisation expanded, the website's structure became misaligned with its evolving scope and user needs. Navigation and layout issues made it difficult for donors, corporate partners, and volunteers to engage effectively. Additionally, the donation process was confusing, potentially deterring supporters. Upgrading to Umbraco 13 was essential for enhanced security, performance, and scalability.
Solution
The project involved upgrading to Umbraco 13 and redesigning the website to better represent GIVIT’s growth. The new design featured vibrant colours and dynamic shapes to reinforce brand identity. The information architecture was restructured to serve a diverse audience, ensuring quick access to needed information. The donation process was streamlined to enhance user experience. New widgets with intuitive copy-and-paste and drag-and-drop capabilities were developed, empowering GIVIT’s content team to manage content more efficiently.
