Background
Ikwordzzper.nl is a Dutch platform that helps freelancers get started with practical tools, clear information and trusted partners. Their previous website no longer served that purpose. It ran on an outdated CMS, performed slowly, had unclear navigation and looked out of date. As a result, the overall experience failed to resonate with its target audience: motivated starters with plans and ambition. For a platform that aims to motivate and guide people at the start of their business journey, this mismatch became an issue.
Solution
We created a new digital experience focused on clarity, motivation and conversion. The redesign started with a new logo and colour system. Each section on the website was given its own colour, improving wayfinding and making the platform easier and more engaging to explore.
The CMS was deliberately structured to make content management faster and more transparent. Content is organised more logically, with an expanded grid system offering greater control over margins, colours and components. Editors now work with reusable content blocks, allowing content to be managed and updated from a single source and reused across the platform. This speeds up publishing and helps save time and cost.
A key feature is the interactive checklist. It guides users through every step of becoming self-employed. Each completed step builds motivation and gives a clear sense of the progress. At the end, users receive a personalized certificate in exchange for their contact details. A friendly and effective way to generate leads.
We also developed calculators that help users with financial planning. Integrated directly into the content flow, they provide value while collecting relevant data without disturbing the experience.
To provide instant support, we connected the site to an AI chatbot. Visitors can ask questions anytime and receive instant context-aware answers based on site content. This reduces friction and keeps users moving.
Personalization with Umbraco Engage took the platform to the next level. We mapped out the key user personas, their needs and their typical online behavior. Based on click patterns, users are assigned to a matching profile. Each profile is linked to content that fits their interests and stage in the entrepreneurial journey. This setup makes the experience more relevant and personal. Instead of overwhelming users with generic content, the site now adjusts to what each visitor is likely looking for.
