We are an Umbraco Gold Contributing Partner and enterprise development agency with staffed offices in India and Denmark. Since 2011, we have designed, built and operated Umbraco platforms for enterprises, public-sector organisations and international NGOs.

Our 100+ delivered websites sit within larger digital estates: a shared foundation supporting more than 100 high-traffic event sites, international programmes spanning 12+ countries, a 5,000+ page consolidation from three CMSs into Umbraco Cloud, and civic and government platforms used by large public audiences.

Umbraco has been part of Phases from the beginning. Our founders, Daniel Horn and Ansar M, met through the Umbraco developer forums and began working together on Umbraco projects. Phases was founded around that work in 2011 and became the first Indian Umbraco Gold Partner in 2018.

Some organisations come to us for a new enterprise website. Others need to replace an ageing CMS, combine several sites, complete a major upgrade or find an experienced team to take responsibility for an existing platform.

We begin with how the organisation works. We study its users, content process, integrations, internal skills, budget and long-term plans before deciding how the platform should be built. The result may use Umbraco CMS, Umbraco Cloud, a headless setup or a composable architecture. The requirement comes first.

Enterprise Umbraco Development, Migration and Upgrades

We support the full life of an Umbraco platform: planning, architecture, development, migration, release and long-term operation.

Enterprise development

We build websites, portals, multisite estates and content platforms using Umbraco CMS, Umbraco Cloud and Microsoft technologies. Delivery can include content architecture, custom backoffice features, ecommerce, search, multilingual publishing and APIs.

Umbraco migration company

We migrate websites to Umbraco from Kentico, WordPress, Webflow, Sitecore, Drupal, bespoke systems and other CMS platforms. We also consolidate several websites into one governed platform.

The work covers content, media, metadata, redirects, search, permissions, integrations, testing and launch. When standard tools cannot handle the source data or volume, our team develops migration utilities for the programme.

Umbraco upgrades to version 17

We upgrade legacy and supported installations, including Umbraco 7, 8, 10 and 13. Umbraco 17 LTS is our main recommendation for organisations planning a longer support period. We also deliver Umbraco 18 STS when its Library and Elements capabilities suit the requirement.

Our Umbraco upgrade work can include databases, packages, custom code, property editors, Forms, member areas, integrations, frontend changes, testing and deployment planning.

Umbraco Cloud, integrations and AI

We design, migrate and operate Umbraco Cloud platforms and support Azure-based or organisation-managed hosting. Our teams work with CI/CD, monitoring, load balancing, backups and release processes.

We integrate Umbraco with CRM, ERP, PIM, DAM, identity, ecommerce, payment, analytics and search systems. We also implement AI-enabled features inside production environments, based on the approved use case, data access, permissions and privacy requirements.

24/7 support and embedded specialists

Phases provides 24/7 support, monitoring, maintenance, security updates and planned improvements. Certified developers can also work alongside an internal technology team or another agency.

NYC Votes: A multilingual civic platform serving an electorate of 5.5 million people across New York City. Delivered in four months, expanded to 14 languages and recognised with the 2021 Umbraco Award for Best Gold Partner Solution.
dmg events: More than 100 high-traffic event websites brought onto one shared Umbraco and React foundation, with common components and services supporting a global event portfolio.
Etihad Engineering: An ageing CMS redesigned and rebuilt as a faster platform with clearer editorial workflows.

From enterprise delivery to the Umbraco stage

Daniel Horn was selected for the Codegarden 2026 speaker programme to share one of our largest replatforming projects: migrating three substantial websites from Kentico, WordPress and Webflow into one Umbraco platform. Watch the recorded session.

At Umbraco India Festival 2026, Ansar M and Farshadudheen K presented “Enterprise Replatforming: Consolidating Three CMSs into a Unified Umbraco Cloud Platform.” They shared the architecture, migration decisions and delivery lessons behind a programme our team had implemented.

Helping shape AI in Umbraco

Daniel Horn is a member of the official AI in Umbraco Advisory Board, contributing to discussions about how AI should support editors, marketers and platform owners across the Umbraco ecosystem.

That work is connected to delivery. Phases also implements AI-enabled features in production Umbraco solutions, with careful consideration for permissions, data access, privacy and editorial workflows.

Building the Umbraco community in India

Members of Phases helped initiate the Umbraco India User Group (UIUG) and continue to contribute through meetups, technical sessions, student education, release testing, package development and knowledge sharing.

Phases also sponsored India’s first Umbraco Festival. The festival was a wider UIUG community initiative involving people from several organisations, and eight Phases colleagues contributed through its organising and supporting teams: Girish S, Anjumol Babu, Afreed CP, Dhanesh Kumar MJ, Arun Kumar VR, Vishnu V S, Ansar M and Daniel Horn.

Our community contribution continues between events through education, platform testing and open-source packages, including UmbracoTreeHandler and MiniRollback.
