Umbraco 7

What this version of Umbraco is about

Umbraco 7 was released in November 2013 and has until the release of Umbraco 8 (February 2019) been updated regularly with bug fixes, features, security fixes etc.

With the release of Umbraco version 8 and Umbraco 9, future Umbraco 7 releases will only concern security updates and critical bug fixes and these updates will continue until September 30th, 2023. Thus, work and maintenance on features and non-critical bug fixes have officially ended for Umbraco 7.

Compared to previous versions of Umbraco, in Umbraco 7 you'll find a complete redesigned search-driven navigation. Umbraco 7 also gives the users the capabilities of AngularJS and Bootstrap out of the box, which helps build cross-platform sites with advanced functionality with ease. Umbraco 7 is faster than previous versions of Umbraco, which means you'll get a faster experience both when creating, browsing and editing websites.

The look of Umbraco 7

By Umbraco 7 being in development for more than 5 years, there has been a lot of big minor releases changing both the feel and the functionalities in Umbraco CMS in order to improve the user experience. For example, in May 2017 with the release of Umbraco 7.5, the backoffice got a facelift and it was made easier to get started and understand Umbraco for new users by the introduction of new content-pickers, code-highlighting in new script and template editors, and improved security overall. Since then, there have been regular updates to the CMS that have all been added in order to make working in Umbraco simpler and more user-friendly.

The latest version of Umbraco 7 is Umbraco 7.15.6
