Following our value of being OPEN, I’m starting THE UNICORNER. A weekly show where you can meet people of the Umbraco HQ and learn about how we work and what we’re currently up to.

I’ve always been a fan of transparency. Ever since the birth of Umbraco, I’ve been using blogging, podcasts and meetups as a way to give insights into what’s going on at the Umbraco HQ.

Now that the Umbraco HQ has doubled in size multiple times over the last couple of years, it’s time to reinvent our transparency. One way will be through a weekly show where I’ll invite people from every part of the Umbraco HQ for an informal fifteen-minute talk about who they are and what they’re up to.

You’ll learn about SWAT, SUITS, COMA, D-TEAM, FISHTANK, TEAM RUNE and the other areas of the HQ. You’ll learn the way we work and get insights into what it’s like to work at Umbraco day-to-day. You’ll learn about things that are just launched, things that are in progress and along the way hopefully also some of the things that never happen. Because a part of being OPEN is also sharing (and celebrating) the mistakes that everybody who dares to be HUNGRY makes.

And speaking of HUNGRY, a regular part of The Unicorner will be FRIENDLY & HUNGRY where the people on the show share a friendly tip of using - or interacting with - Umbraco and also share one thing they’d improve if they were in my chair.

The videos will be posted on our YouTube channel and the first one airs on Monday (August 13th) where you’ll meet two lovely people from SWAT and hear about why there’s a new big ON AIR sign in the office.

I’m really excited about this, and I hope you’ll enjoy it (and forgive the bloopers along the way).

Love,
Niels…

Loved by developers, used by thousands around the world!

One of the biggest benefits of using Umbraco is that we have the friendliest Open Source community on this planet. A community that's incredibly pro-active, extremely talented and helpful.

If you get an idea for something you would like to build in Umbraco, chances are that someone has already built it. And if you have a question, are looking for documentation or need friendly advice, go ahead and ask on the community forums.
