How long have you been working with Umbraco: 3 months

Favourite Umbraco moment or achievement?

My favorite Umbraco achievement so far is becoming certified in Umbraco Fundamentals.

It has helped me become more comfortable in talking to clients about their projects as well as the QA process.

What in your Umbraco career are you most proud of?

I am most proud of learning how to create a demo in Umbraco 8 and presenting it to a client to show the design and functionality of their new site.

What about Umbraco keeps you coming back for more?

So far it has been how supportive the Umbraco community has been and how much my clients love working in Umbraco.

What are you currently working on?

One of the many projects I am working on now is a website design and build project in Umbraco 8 for a gaming company.

It’s flashy and fun and I love the design aspects.

What are your top 3 best tips for an Umbraco newbie?

Umbraco TV is one of the most helpful tools available when new to Umbraco.
The Umbraco community is extremely helpful so don’t hesitate to reach out whenever you have any questions or need help with anything at all.
Go through the certification process. It really helps you learn at a fast rate and allows you to become familiar with all of the latest Umbraco features.

Any aspirations for your future?

My aspirations are to learn as much as I can about Umbraco and to attend Codegarden and the Umbraco US Festival.

What is on your desk at work?

You can usually find a bottle of Kombucha and a 3-D printed dinosaur made by a coworker.

What books are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza and a really obscure book called The Rebirth of Pan by Jim Brandon.

Do you have a hidden talent?

I’m pretty good with flowers and plants and I’m currently learning my way around the garden.

Last year was my first time with a fruit and vegetable garden and I am pleased with the results.

This year I have a plan as far as a garden rotation schedule so I have a harvest for the entire season.
