Dansani
DANISH BATHROOM DESIGN

Background
Dansani, the Danish manufacturer of beautiful and thoughtfully designed bathroom concepts, wanted to create an inspiring digital universe built on Umbraco Cloud.
With a strong presence across nine markets, the goal was to equip editors with efficient tools to create, localize, and manage content across multiple languages - both effectively and at scale. The ambition was clear: to deliver a visually engaging digital platform that is easy to update and expand, with a powerful and seamless editing experience at its core.

Solution
The result was a robust digital universe built on Umbraco Cloud, with an editing experience that mirrors the frontend. Editors work with block previews in the backoffice that look just like the final site, eliminating the need for a separate preview window and making content updates highly intuitive. To streamline workflows, Umbraco was seamlessly integrated with Dansani’s BigCommerce store and their digital asset management platform, Kontainer. A custom-built extension lets editors browse media in Kontainer, define crops, and assign product SKUs - and once the image is selected, that data is returned to Umbraco.
On top of the Kontainer integration, we built a custom Umbraco extension that fetches the corresponding BigCommerce products and presents them in a native-looking product picker. This allows editors to easily manage tagged products on an image, directly in Umbraco, without breaking their workflow.
For dealer data, which lives in an external database, we used Umbraco UI Builder to allow editors to view and update dealer information - including map coordinates - directly from the backoffice. Dealers are visualized on a Google Map on the site, and editors can now place pins with precision, without leaving Umbraco.
Across all features, we extended and reused native Umbraco components to ensure a seamless and consistent experience.

Impact
With this solution in place, Dansani’s editorial team works faster and smarter. Visual previews reduce time spent navigating and editing content, while the unified workflow - connecting Umbraco, BigCommerce, and Kontainer - eliminates context switching and manual steps. Editors can now tag products on images, manage dealer data, and publish localized content across nine markets with ease.
The editing experience feels effortless yet powerful - and it was this seamless integration of design, functionality, and editorial flow that ultimately earned Dansani the 2025 Umbraco Award for Best Editing Experience.
