East Capital Group

Managing multiple brands with a single CMS platform

East Capital Group teamed up with UKAD to streamline website management across four brands. By moving to Umbraco and consolidating onto a single CMS, they cut licensing and hosting costs by 65%, reduced IT maintenance by 4×, and enabled editors to publish content 48% faster.

Background

East Capital Group, a leading Swedish investment firm, operates four distinct brands across global markets. Over time, their websites became fragmented - built on different platforms like WordPress and Optimizely, each with separate hosting. This made content updates slow, onboarding difficult, and support costly. To streamline operations and unify the experience without sacrificing brand identity, East Capital partnered with UKAD to rebuild their web presence on a single, flexible Umbraco platform.

Solution

The first step was to simplify how East Capital Group managed their websites. Editors had to switch between different platforms, each with different layouts, features, and workflows. It made even simple tasks harder than they needed to be. We migrated all sites to Umbraco CMS. It gave the team a single, flexible system they could control without relying on developers.

Umbraco’s structure also made it easier to build features the group had been missing, like reusable components and multi-site content management. Although the websites looked different, many of their content blocks worked the same way. We used that to our advantage.

Instead of rebuilding each site from scratch, we created a shared library of components. Editors can now use the same tools across all four brands. This cut down development time, made the system easier to maintain, and gave editors more freedom to publish content quickly.

We also consolidated hosting. Everything now runs on Microsoft Azure, with single sign-on via Azure Active Directory. That move simplified infrastructure, made access more secure, and gave the internal team fewer environments to manage. Throughout the build, we kept a close eye on the details. All existing content was preserved and reorganized into the new structure. Nothing was lost in the process. In the end, the new system gave them more room to grow without extra overhead.

Impact

By moving to Umbraco, East Capital Group transformed how their teams manage content across brands. The unified platform simplifies daily workflows - editors work faster, onboarding is easier, and support demands have dropped significantly. Umbraco’s flexibility enables consistent content structures with room for brand-specific customization. Accessibility has improved too, with all sites now meeting WCAG 2.2 standards. Most importantly, the solution is stable, scalable, and future-ready - giving the group a strong foundation to grow on.
