If you've been looking at our job openings, you've probably also been thinking "What's it actually like working at Umbraco HQ? 🤔 "

Enjoying a job is much more than interesting tasks, it's about the whole picture; the tasks, the colleagues, the atmosphere and the attitude.  And we're very aware of this.

An International Workplace

We’re placed in Odense, Denmark, but what we do reaches as far and wide as globally possible. One moment you’re talking to someone in a building round the corner, the next someone from the UK, the next, someone from India, the next… you get it 😉 That’s the terms as well as the exciting perks of servicing online software. This makes us an international company with the need for a broad outlook, but Umbraco HQ itself is also very international.

Currently, almost half of our employees have a different national background than Danish and that definitely makes for a unique work environment where there’s room for different ideas, insights and approaches. And then it’s also super fun.

social HQ

Fun Squad, Beetroot, Umbracola and The Umbraco Unicorns.

Those are just some of the Umbraco HQ add-ons. The social part of HQ is very important to us. We arrange regular “Fun Squad” events where everyone from the company is invited - we’ve been out brewing our own beer, been bridgewalking and even solved a mysterious murder !

On a more daily basis, we get to mingle with each other during lunch which consists of tasty biodynamic brain food from the local farm shop, Højbyhus. On Fridays we count the minutes until beer o’clock where we open up the Friday Bar and gather for a casual beer, an Umbra-cola or a glass of chilled chardonnay.

We like to keep healthy by keeping active. A group of us form a weekly football game as part of the famous “Umbraco Unicorns” and when we get the chance, we also like to flash our custom-made Umbraco running t-shirt at running event… but don’t worry - we do eat cake as well, and it’s even company policy to bring back chocolates for your colleagues if you go on a business trip abroad 😉

Loved by developers, used by thousands around the world!

One of the biggest benefits of using Umbraco is that we have the friendliest Open Source community on this planet. A community that's incredibly pro-active, extremely talented and helpful.

If you get an idea for something you would like to build in Umbraco, chances are that someone has already built it. And if you have a question, are looking for documentation or need friendly advise, go ahead and ask the Umbraco community on Our.
