uProfile - Bjarne Fyrstenborg
Name: Bjarne Fyrstenborg
Location: Denmark
Job role/company: Working as a frontend web developer at Novicell
First used Umbraco: 2010
What are you currently working on?
Currently I am working on improvements and changes for webapoteket.dk which is built with Umbraco and uCommerce. Among other things I have optimized the website with responsive design for mobile and tablet devices.
What is your favourite Umbraco moment or achievement?
When having a Pull Request merged into the core - each time it's a great feeling to have contributed to such a great CMS and helping make it even better.
I wish I could say Codegarden, but unfortunately I haven't participated yet - hopefully next year :)
I would love to meet more of the people from the friendliest community. This year I was one of the top 20 MVP nominees and what a great honor!
What is the piece of Umbraco work you are most proud of?
Pull request: to more easily close collapsed sections on smaller screens or when using a lot of packages https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/633
Package: contributing to the Google Analytics package where I have added localization and an e-commerce section
What is it about Umbraco that keeps you coming back for more?
I like Umbraco for keeping complex stuff simple and easy to use, both for developers and editors. Furthermore the CMS keeps moving forwards - a lot has happened since I was introduced to Umbraco 4.3 in 2010 in my internship at Tea Solutions (just before the new XML schema was introduced in 4.5).
What is on your desk at work?
Paper notes, a cup of coffee and sometimes different mobile devices for tests (incl. my own Samsung Galaxy S5).
Bits and pieces about Bjarne ...
When I am not contributing to Umbraco, submitting PR's, looking for issues to fix or developing packages I like doing gymnastics, go for a run or watching different kinds of sports and drinking some beers with friends or spending time with family.
