Powering the UK's latest challenger bank with Umbraco

Background
Vida has been a client of MagiClick since 2016, delivering specialist residential and buy-to-let mortgage solutions. Over recent years they have lent £3.7 billion to more than 17,000 mortgage customers.
In 2024, Vida embarked on a strategic journey to obtain a banking license, a pivotal move supported by MagiClick's technological and digital expertise. Our collaboration involved crafting Vida's new banking web site, integrating advanced analytics, and enhancing conversion rate optimisation to align with Vida's expansion goals.


Solution
MagiClick was responsible for the delivery of the Vida Bank website. This work started by supporting the UX and UI design process, which included usability testing with real end users to gain their feedback before a line of code was written.
Our team delivered both the front-end and back-end engineering on the website project, alongside delivering a design system application to support the additional bank brands, Vida Savings and Vida Homeloans, through one unified code base and set of components.
Impact
MagiClick built the Vida Bank website on the Umbraco CMS platform. Content editors have access to a feature rich content management system with central management of product information which is automatically propagated through to product pages, tables guides and calculators. We also made extensive use of the Umbraco Workflow and Deploy add-ons to support the bank’s requirement for multi-level content authorisation and strong audit trails of all content changes on the site.
