Background
Century Yuasa Batteries is Australia's oldest battery manufacturer. The company has been designing and manufacturing batteries since 1928 and is an affiliate of the globally renowned GS Yuasa Corporation. The group operates several distinct consumer brands across Australia and New Zealand: Century Batteries, Yuasa Batteries, and Battery Zone. Each brand serves a different audience, from everyday motorists and marine users through to performance and commercial vehicle professionals.Managing a digital presence across a brand family of this scale created real challenges. Each brand needed its own identity, user experience, and content strategy. At the same time, the group needed an efficient approach to content management that would not multiply the workload for marketing and content teams. Across seven sites and two markets, the group's previous digital presence was fragmented across several different CMS environments. There was no shared technical foundation and no consistent editorial experience for the teams managing content.
Solution
Zeroseven rebuilt the full Century Yuasa digital ecosystem from the ground up across seven sites: the CYB corporate site plus Century Batteries, Yuasa Batteries, and Battery Zone, each with Australian and New Zealand market variants where applicable. All seven sites were built on Umbraco. Separate instances for each site allow every brand to maintain its own identity and content structure, while content editors across the group work within a familiar, consistent CMS environment.
The programme was planned so that core components could be shared. Vehicle search functionality and vehicle landing pages were built once and reused across five of the seven sites, which reduced development time and delivered a consistent user experience across brands. Integrations with product data, vehicle search, and retailer search systems give users accurate, up-to-date information at every touchpoint. Australian and New Zealand market variants are managed as separate sites, with a region toggle on paired brand sites directing users to the appropriate market.
Impact
The Century Yuasa group now operates a coherent, maintainable digital ecosystem across seven sites, three brands, and two markets. Each brand has a fast, mobile-responsive, accessible website that reflects its own market positioning. Shared components and a consistent Umbraco CMS environment reduce the ongoing workload for both development and content teams. Product data, vehicle search, and retailer search integrations draw information from a single source of truth across all seven sites. This reduces manual content maintenance and keeps customer-facing information accurate and consistent at scale. All seven sites remain under active support with Zeroseven, giving the group a single agency partner across its entire digital portfolio.
