Background
The Challenge
IdentiSys serves more than 100,000 customers across government, healthcare, education and commercial sectors. Their existing website had become difficult to evolve and provided no eCommerce capability, no self-service account management and limited visibility into customer behaviour.
A key requirement was supporting multiple customer types through a single platform. Public customers needed a straightforward eCommerce experience, while key account customers required access to negotiated contract pricing and a more consultative purchasing journey.
The organisation needed a scalable platform that would improve the customer experience while reducing reliance on manual internal processes.
Solution
Spinbox delivered a composable architecture combining Umbraco as the content and digital experience platform with nopCommerce handling transactional eCommerce functionality.
Umbraco provides a flexible content management environment that allows the marketing team to manage product, service and commercial content without developer involvement. The platform was integrated with nopCommerce through a bespoke connector layer built by Spinbox, creating a seamless experience across content and commerce.
The solution included:
*Personalised account-specific pricing for key customers
*Support for SKU-level discounts, category pricing and volume breaks
*A quote workflow enabling customers to submit baskets for commercial review before purchase
*Secure online payments through Stripe
*Automated sales tax calculation using Avalara
*Enhanced GA4 eCommerce tracking to provide full funnel visibility
By combining Umbraco's flexibility with a purpose-built commerce architecture, IdentiSys gained a platform capable of supporting both self-service and relationship-led sales journeys.
Impact
The new platform transformed a previously manual sales process into a scalable digital commerce experience.
Key account customers can now access their negotiated pricing online, reducing dependency on the sales team while improving the buying experience. B2C customers can research, purchase and complete transactions independently, creating a new direct revenue channel.
The business also benefits from significantly improved operational efficiency and, for the first time, full visibility into customer behaviour, purchase intent and conversion performance across the entire digital journey.
