Design and development of a portfolio of sites for the Manufacturing Technology Centre
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) supports manufacturing businesses in their pursuit of world-class performance.
MTC works with world-class research partners which have attracted members such as Rolls Royce, Siemens, Nikon and Airbus, transferring cutting edge technologies into manufacturing processes in industry. From aircraft engines to automotive production they work with the world’s leading manufacturers to bring their products to life.
With a relatively blank canvas, we developed the MTC brand across printed literature, signage, digital presentations. In 2011, we developed both the main website using our bespoke CMS along with a dedicated graduate website. In 2015, we re-developed the MTC website into a far more extensive online portal to represent the rapidly expanding organisation. This new digital platform allowed the website to grow with MTC and integrates an online CRM, Forums and other tools with a comprehensive CMS. The site was also awarded Adobe's Business Catalyst Site of the Week in March 2016.
In March 2017, we put a newly refreshed MTC site live with home page video we shot and a complete overhaul of the site content and structure was implemented with the existing site CRM and other data transitioned.
In 2021 we be launched a brand new site for the MTC built on Umbraco Cloud along with a number of other sites.
Design and development of the IAAF website
The IAAF had an existing site that was very outdated and difficult for the client to update. We were approached to put forward proposals for a new site that would be mobile and tablet friendly and allowed the client to easily make updates via an online CMS.
The solution
A complete re-design with entirely new content.
First of all, we looked at the existing content and create a proposed site map based on client input for new sections required. Following site map sign-off, we created flat visuals for the home page and a couple of inner pages to show how different content would be treated.
Once theses were approved, we created online page templates to show how the responsive layouts would work. We subsequently created all the Web Apps required, some of which were created to allow easy content population, others were created to handle the online voting system.
The outcome
The IAAF now has a site that can be put to work generating new memberships, keeping existing members informed with myriad new features. It also allows the client to use the powerful CRM to share data amongst themselves via the cloud and keep their membership database up to date. The site enjoys around 7,000 page views a month following launch with extremely positive feedback from the client and members alike.
