Every year, we honor the hardworking pillars of the Umbraco Community, known as MVPs or Most Valuable People.
We are humbled by the amount of work you put into Umbraco, including but not limited to:
- The forum
- Pull requests
- Documentation
- Packages
- New and inspiring community initiatives
- Community events and more
Now's your chance to recognize that someone special: Nominate someone you believe deserves the title and recognition of a 2021 MVP:

Scope
Nominations are open to everyone. You can either nominate yourself or someone from the Community. We encourage self-nominations; don't hesitate to share your story.
Consider the following questions:
- Who has inspired you?
- Who has supported you?
- Whose involvement has made a big difference for you and the Community?
Contributions to Umbraco as well as Umbraco's values and Code of Conduct are at the center of this process.
The selection of New and Renewed MVPs is based on the activity of the nominee during the 12 months leading up to Codegarden.
The MVP Program
In the last couple of years, the MVP program has transitioned from a rewarding badge to a closer collaboration between Umbraco HQ and the MVPs.
As an MVP, you can expect to have access to:
- MVP Connect, an exclusive quarterly event
- A dedicated Slack channel for all MVPs on the HQ workspace
- The Umbraco blog - we'll collaborate with you to share your ideas in a dedicated article(s)
- MVP Academy initiative
- Skill-building using free courses
- Pay-it-forward ideas and Community growth through MVP scholarships
Submission timeline
👉 22 April 2021: Application opens
👉 17 May 2021: Application closes (at 4 PM CEST)
👉 10 June 2021: Official announcement of the 2021 MVPs at Codegarden
Renewals
The nomination form includes two sections: New MVPs and Renewed MVPs. The Renewed MVPs section displays a dropdown list with the names of the current MVPs to choose from. Before submitting a new nomination, we recommend you have a look at the list of the current MVPs. If your nominee’s name is there, you will need to choose the Renewed MVPs section of the form.
Umbraco HQ will be considering all current MVPs as nominees for the renewal.
Selection process
Final selection of new and renewed MVPs is done by Umbraco HQ.
As part of the selection process, before we create the final list, current MVPs will be given access to the list of nominees (names only) in order to weigh in based on their experience interacting with the nominees in different channels and events. Insights by the current MVPs will only be considered if they have interacted with the nominees.
We will make sure that this process is GDPR-compliant and the review does not include contact information, e.g. email address.
To avoid any conflict of interest, this first-round review by current MVPs will not cover renewals.
