Hello everyone, we’re The Scylla Group! We’re a craft digital agency in the USA, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains with offices in Winchester and Warrenton VA.
Our company was founded in 2011, by five digital natives. Over the past 7 years, we have grown from 5 to 15 people, mostly by growing as our clients grow.
We have diverse industry experience and a strong, shared belief in the promise of a more collaborative, creative world through the adoption of digital innovation.
Our goal has always been to create a culture of curiosity, where our people are encouraged and empowered to pursue the technology and innovations that excite them.
We serve a wide range of companies across multiple industries in the digital commerce space, providing digital strategy, UX design, development and insight.

We’ve worked with all the popular CMSs throughout our career, developing an intimate knowledge of each platform’s strengths and weaknesses.
Most CMSs are built for page management, not site management. You’re usually working with a templated back-end and have to learn their language, adopt their processes and integrate extra fluff that adds unnecessary costs and reduces performance.

Umbraco is the only platform we’ve found that allows us to build a custom CMS tailored to our client’s language, processes and unique needs.
There is no set convention with Umbraco. It’s unopinionated, allowing us to start with a blank slate and determine what properties and components we want for our solutions. Every solution we’ve developed builds off the previous and continues to get better.
Unlike other CMSs, Umbraco is virtually limitless, allowing us to create our own sections, apps, property editors and integration points. We’ve never had to tell a client, “we can’t do that,” because it’s so easy to integrate 3rd party data and connect with 3rd party systems.
It was also easy to integrate Umbraco into our own process with the flexibility to adapt to change. Umbraco has streamlined our development by bridging the gap between experience design and engineering, and reduced our development and integration time.
