Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund

Enhanced personalization, streamlined editorial processes, and improved system stability and scalability

When entrusted with the task of rebuilding Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund’s (LRF) website, Toxic began by identifying the challenges LRF faced with its existing platform and defining the key focus areas for the new solution.

Background

LRF emphasized the importance of keeping its members at the core of the experience. Additionally, the organization sought to modernize the design, improve performance, and enhance usability.

Solution

The project was divided into two phases: feasibility study (phase 1) and implementation and development (phase 2). During the feasibility study, Toxic defined the vision, target audiences, and key objectives. Together with LRF, it was determined that the new website should enable personalized communication, offer targeted content, provide a platform for elected representatives, include tools for editors, and streamline processes for members. A new visual identity was developed, followed by a prototype of the new website.

In the second phase, the focus shifted to the technical implementation. Given that LRF operates multiple systems that need to communicate seamlessly, stable technology was a key requirement for a sustainable and future-proof solution. The new website was built using Umbraco 11 and Microsoft Azure, ensuring high control, full flexibility, and complete scalability. To enhance stability and speed, a load-balancing system was implemented, allowing two servers to run simultaneously. The solution also included 15 different integrations, such as ImageVault, BankID, SwedbankPay, and Swish for external systems, as well as Freshdesk, Roten, and Samköp for LRF’s internal systems.

Impact

The new website is modern, user-friendly, and tailored to meet the needs of both members and editors. It offers personalized communication based on user interests, a dedicated logged-in area for elected representatives, and intuitive tools for editors. The design and functionality create a seamless experience—from secure BankID login to simplified membership fee payments via Swish or SwedbankPay. The content dynamically adapts to users' interests and needs, ensuring an intuitive and engaging experience.
